The ritual that Jesus followed at the Last Supper that he served to his disciples is full of symbolism. Before the meal began, Jesus put water in the laver and washed the disciples’ feet, showing them that we should not seek first place. “Whoever wants to be first, be last of all,” he told them. <\/p>\n

The Supper is called secret not because it was done in secret but because Christ wanted to reveal to his disciples the mystery of the Holy Communion. That is why he told them: \u201cReceive ye eat\u201d, offering them bread (His body) and wine (His blood). \u201cReceive ye eat, this is my body… This is my blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many\u201d. <\/p>\n

Judas leaves, putting his plan of betrayal into action. Jesus gives his last teaching to his disciples on the Mount of Olives. When they depart, he prays. Judas arrives with an escort of Roman soldiers. <\/p>\n

He points them to Jesus, giving him a kiss. Jesus is arrested and taken to the High Priests Anna and Caiaphas. He goes through a trial. They ask him if he is the Christ and he admits it. He is found guilty of death. The Passion March begins, from the Garden of Gethsemane, to Calvary and the Crucifixion. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
