The Handmade Holy Icon of Panagia Ierosolimitissa is located in the Holy Pilgrimage of the Pentecostal Mother Monument in Gethsemane.

The Miraculous Holy Icon of the Virgin “IEROSOLYMITISSA”, has been painted in the 19th century in a miraculous way. It dates back to 1870 and has the following history:
There was at that time a nun hagiographer named Tatiani, of the Russian Holy Monastery of the Myrrh-bearing Saint Mary of Magdalene, located at the foot of the Jerusalem Mount of Olives.

Tatiana saw as she slept the following Vision: She saw that an unknown nun visited her in her cell, who said to her: “Sister Tatiani, I came to paint me”. Tatiana replied: “Bless you, sister, but I am a hagiographer and not a painter “. And the Visitor says to her: “Then paint me.” Tatiana was surprised by the courage of the stranger and replied: “I do not have wood (board), where can I paint you?”.

And then the Visiting Nun gives her a hagiography board and says: “Paint”! But while Tatiana was painting the Nun, she saw Her Clothes turn golden, Her Face shining brightly, and he heard her say: “O blessed Tatiana, after the Apostle and Evangelist Luke, you will hagiograph me again”.

Tatiana realized that she was painting the Virgin Mary! He was agitated and woke up. He immediately rushed to the Abbess and told her the Vision. The Abbess disbelieved and told her to go to sleep and tomorrow to paint an Icon of the Virgin Mary.

But as she was returning, she saw light coming out of her cell and smelled it! Then he warned the Abbess and together they entered the bright and fragrant cell, where they saw the most amazing Miracle. The Image of the Vision was inside the cell real, Unpainted! This Holy Icon of the Virgin Mary!

After all this, the Virgin Mary appears again to the Nun and says: “Take me down to my house, in Gethsemane”. Something that happened.

Since then, the Handmade Holy Icon of the Virgin Mary “IEROSOLYMITISSA”, is located in the Holy Pilgrimage of the Mother of God Monument of Gethsemane, and performs Miracles.

All three times when the Holy Temple in Gethsemane was flooded, the Icon ascended alone from the marble throne that is located and stood in the ventilation system, without resting anywhere! Her miracles are innumerable, wherever she has gone.
